Our services

  • Dog Walking

Here at Canine Capers, we just love our pack walks. We walk in all kinds of different locations around Chester and dogs are walked in packs of up to 6 (per handler) so there is never a dull moment!

All our walks are a minimum of 1hr and transport is included. Dogs just love the interaction and socialisation they experience on our walks (which are off lead subject to written consent). We like to meet and get to know new dogs and their owners initially, at which point our paperwork can be completed and a key handed over (keys are held by us but tagged only with your dogs name for security reasons).

We are fully insured and always carry first aid. We always accommodate your shift pattern too, breaking your dogs day up at an appropriate time, thereby reducing the time your dog is alone before and after their walk.

  • Day Care

Daycare is offered between the hours of 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, so you have peace of mind that your dog has the very best care, and plenty of exersise and stimulation, whilst you're at work or having a family day out.

Your dog will join several pack walks throughout the day and play or snooze in the comfort of my home in between. We are more than happy to feed your dog or administer any medication required (please provide all food, medication etc), to ensure your dogs routine is maintained.

We do require daycare dogs to be dropped off and collected by their owners, at our home address. This service is also subject to an initial meet, at a mutually convenient time and place, to introduce the dogs and fill out our paperwork.

  • Home Boarding

We offer a fully licensed and insured “home from home” boarding service to cater for all your dog’s needs, whether it’s for one night or a long holiday, you can rest assured your pet will be having a holiday of their very own. All dogs reside in our home with our resident dogs and are treated as part of the family. Boarding dogs will enjoy long pack walks in the countryside or at the beach before coming home to choose a comfy bed to snuggle down on.

Spaces are limited so please get in touch asap to discuss your pets requirements

  • Consultation

The Natural Aproach to Health and Nutrition.

I am so passionate about the health and well being of our four-legged friends that all my dogs are raised on a species appropriate raw diet, de-flead and wormed using natural but highly effective minerals and any ailments are treated with natural remedies/supplements. When you meet me and mine, the results speak for themselves and many people comment on the fantastic condition of my dogs.

I strive to help educate more people on the benefits of a natural approach, thereby reducing the chemicals and toxins going into the dogs system and resulting in happier, healthier, calmer dogs - a win win all round!

I offer consultations on any of these aspects of natural rearing and feeding and supply everything required for a complete raw diet, thereby relieving owners of the complexities of sourcing and balancing the diet.

Please get in touch to arrange your consultation and get your dog started on the path to better health and behaviour (and massively reduced vets bills!!)

Geoff

Our border collie Geoff absolutely LOVES going to daycare, and he doesn’t look back once he sees the van. Going to daycare has completely changed him, he is much calmer for having had company during the day, and we don’t feel guilty going to work in the morning. He is absolutely shattered after daycare, and has also learnt some good manners from Emma & co! It’s the only place I feel happy about leaving him too when we go away. Worth every penny, and Emma and James go out of their way to help however they can.

Tilly

Emma has been taking Tilly for her morning walks for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I am really pleased with the service she offers. I have a very nervous dog who I was apprehensive about sending on a pack walk but Emma has been fantastic in socialising her with the other dogs and improving her confidence. In just a couple of weeks I can see a marked improvement. The prices are very reasonably for the time and effort she puts in to the walks and I would highly recommend her to anyone who was considering using her.

Stella and Hugo

Where to begin?! Emma is a true professional and from the moment she met our dogs it was clear to see that she is not only an expert with our canine friends, but that she adores them and the work that she does. That is such an important factor when it comes to leaving our beautiful pets and we went on our short break, feeling confident that our doggies were in great, loving and safe hands.

Whilst away, Emma would post photos (lots of lovely photos) of Stella and Hugo on their walks, socialising with lots of other doggies too. They looked like they were having a great time and it made us very happy to be able to see our pooches whilst away from them. Emma was also very punctual at replying to us via text with updates and has even messaged us since they came back home, to see how they both are.

When our doggies arrived home to us, it was so very obvious that they had had a wonderful little holiday of their own! Hugo even sulked a little when Emma left and appeared to miss her! Since they have returned, their name recall has been better than ever and their confidence around other doggies at the park, on their walk today, has shot up! And they were only with Emma for three days!
We will certainly be using Canine Capers again in the future and I whole heartedly recommend Emma and her team. Their love and passion for dogs is so clear. A massive thank you from the Harvey Family, we’ll be using your services again. xxx

Basil

Have a very energetic Rhodesian Ridgeback called Basil and have been using Emma regulary. Was very nervous leaving him at first, but with Emma’s knowledge of behaviour/breed characteristics and handling skills I don’t really know what I was worried about! Not only can I relax when he is away but Basil has made lots of new friends and Emma always tries to accommodate around the timings you need!

Tulip & Roxy

Tulip and Roxy had such a fantastic overnight stay with Emma. Two very tired boxer babes for the entire day after. Great friendly service and professional. It made my night even better knowing that I didn’t need to worry about the dogs as they were in such great hands 🙂 Lots of hugs from Tulip and Roxy ( and a special one for Jim from Roxy)! Highly recommended and will definately use Emma again.

Mason

Started using Canine Capers a couple of months ago and couldn’t be happier. They’ve given me confidence in leaving my best buddy in their care with their knowledge of canine behaviour and wonderful walking locations. My 11 month Boxer Dog, Mason, comes back from day care with his tail wagging, happy, healthy and content. He adores Emma and has great fun with her own pack. I wouldn’t leave my pup with anyone else….GREAT job guys! Huge THANK YOU x

  • Emma Jackson
    Proprietor

Having had a passion for animals from a very young age, owning and rescuing all kinds of animals including hamsters, rabbits, ducks, dogs, horses and even pet lambs, I think I was always destined to work with animals!

In 2012, I left the corporate world of Estate Agency and set up Canine Capers of Chester and have never looked back. Dogs are my true passion and I take huge pride in ensuring all dogs in my care are as happy, healthy and well loved as my own pack.

As making a living goes, this is definately what I was born to do and I love every minute I spend with all the dogs, particularly watching them all run and play on pack walks!

    Maddie
    aka The Boss

Our lovely Maddie was a rescue girl from Manchester Dogs home and joined us in January 2007 at approx 8-10 months old having been handed in as “unwanted”. Well, it didn’t take long to understand why!! We had many many behavioural problems on our hands and it was a very long road, with plenty of “what have we taken on” moments!

That’s all well and truely in the past these days and Maddie is so loving and well mannered, she’s a total pleasure to share our lifes with. Maddie is undoubtably the pack leader or “matron” as we’ve come to know her and some days I don’t know where we’d be without her, she keeps all the packs in line!

  • bailey_photo
    Bailey
    aka Bailey Boo

Our gorgeous boy Bailey joined our family in April 2012 at approximately 8 months old.

Bailey was rescued from death row in a council pound in Ireland, after a horrendous start to life, and made the long journey over to join our family by ferry.

Despite everything this boy has been through, he has grown into the most loveable, cuddly, well behaved boy and he loves all his pack walks with his mates, life is one big party for playful Bailey.

  • James

Having enjoyed the company of various different breeds of dogs throughout his childhood, particularly enjoying training and working with his gun dogs, James’ passion for dogs and love of the outdoors made him the perfect candidate to join his wife in expanding the business, James joined the team during the summer of 2015 and has never looked back.
